Video - L.A. Lakers: 101 - Orlando: 96 (OT)

I usually hate when writers/broadcasters ask questions like "did team x win the game or did team y lose the game?" But in this instance, this might be a time where team y - Orlando - lost the game.

They played the Lakers tight all game long and had a few golden opportunities to win the game, especially Courtney Lee. He missed a floater in the lane in the last minute and then blew the alley-oop layup that could have defeated the Lakers in regulation. You don't get too many chances like that. Hopefully Lee doesn't have a career meltdown of Nick Anderson proportions but it's not looking good after the first two games.

Van Gundy seems to have forgotten how to play his back court. Coming into the series, most people would agree that the Magic had the advantage at the point guard slot. However the addition of Jameer Nelson has thrown the rotations for a loop and Rafer's shot has left him completely. The bench didn't provide any production and a large reason for that was Mikael Pietrus being limited by foul trouble.

On the bright side, the next three games will be played in Orlando. On the not so bright side the Magic are two games from fishing. Kobe didn't play as great as he did in the last game but that's not stopping him from remaining focused. Odom was huge and so was Pau Gasol. We're two Laker victories away from one of the most anticipated post game interview sessions ever and I'm definitely looking forward to it.

Video - L.A. Lakers: 100 - Orlando: 75

Kobe was absolutely sick in tonight's game. He's locked in...totally focused...hungry...you name it, Kobe was it tonight. 40-8-8 is a pretty impressive stat line if I do say so myself. Orlando finally cooled off; too bad it came at the worst possible time. Shooting 30 percent from the field isn't going to win them too many games. Getting outrebounded by 14 isn't going to help either.

Dwight Howard...six field goal attempts isn't going to get you that first 'ship. Rashard Lewis, Hedo Turkoglu, Rafer Alston...an amber alert was sent out on them during tonight's game. But the Magic found Jameer Nelson! To their detriment? We'll see over the course of the series.

The Lakers have come to play, ladies and gents. It would be a real tall task if the Magic head back to Florida in an 0-2 hole. Kobe Bryant would love to pack that hole with as much dirt as possible.

President Obama's NBA Finals Pick: The Lakers in 6

President Obama is doing pretty well for himself when it comes to picking champs - he picked North Carolina to win the NCAA title and they came through for him and he also pulled for the Pittsburgh Steelers to win the Super Bowl. Now he's made his choice for NBA champ:

Video - LeBron Breaks His Silence

Nice of him to offer a few words in the aftermath of his team's post season meltdown. Clearly, he's pissed off about losing...and rightfully so. I don't agree with him not congratulating the Magic after the game, but I understand where he's coming from. You would hope for better sportsmanship from the MVP of the NBA, but it is what it is. In the grand scheme of things, I'm sure Dwight Howard isn't losing sleep over it...he's got bigger fish to fry.

And speaking of fish...that's the last time we talk about Cleveland fisherman here at Have You Seen Me Dunk for the rest of this post season.

Happy fishing, LeBron!

The King Is Dead...Long Live The King

28, 7, 7.

Ok, you might be wondering what these various numbers have to do with anything. Lotto numbers? Lock combination? No...here goes:

66 represents the number of games that the Cleveland Cavaliers won this season. 39 is the number of home games they won (out of 41), which is one of the best home records in NBA history. 28,7, and 7 were LeBron's averages in points, rebounds, and assists - one of the best stat lines ever. 1 represents LeBron's first Most Valuable Player award, received after leading his team to the best regular season record in NBA. 4 represents the total number of post-season games that the Cavs have lost during the 2009 NBA Playoffs. And 0 is the number of times that the Cleveland Cavaliers won on the homecourt of the Orlando Magic this season. O is also the number of NBA Championships that LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers possess.

The last two numbers, 4 and 0 are the only numbers that matter here. Although their current postseason record is 10-4, that record has no chance at improving because of their 0-3 postseason road record against Orlando. Frozen in time because the Cavs couldn't work their magic away from the Q and because they had no magic against the Magic.

This is no fluke, though. Orlando has simply owned the Cavs over the last two or so years, winning 12 out of 17 games against Cleveland. The Cavs could have won the championship on the back of LeBron James...if they got the right match-up. Despite their 66-16 regular season record, they were only 3-6 against the "elite" teams of the NBA - Los Angeles (0-2), Orlando (1-2), and Boston (2-2).

And like just like that...after ripping off 8 straight wins to start the playoffs...after all the dancing and general good vibes that they felt all season long...it's all over. And King said no words to anyone after it was all said and done.

0. No championship to soothe decades of heartbreak.

That's my lasting image of LeBron James. A person, who in defeat, didn't have the grace and poise of "royalty" to congratulate the foes who dashed his championship hopes against the rocks.

I forgot one more number...2010. Anyone who has been following basketball this year knows the significance of 2010. And if Cleveland hopes to keep their Most Valuable Player on the roster for years to come, they better make immediate changes to turn that 0 into a 1 next season.

But for now, His Majesty will have to be content with being King of the lake for yet another summer.

Paul Pierce Signed Ball... For 99 Cents!

I kid you not. Wendy's an ill twist on auctions that will be giving away some ill merch for $.99. Check the explanation:

Wendy's is doing something called "99¢ Bid for Value": www.99centbidforvalue.com

It is a series of online auctions that will be going backwards, therefore the winning bid will always be 99 cents. When an auction is LIVE consumers must correctly answer a trivia question to submit a bid. These questions are quick and simple, and they can answer as many as they need before getting one correct. Once the bidder presses the submit button, a bid is submitted, and the value of the prize will continue to go down. The first bidder who knocks the price down to 99 cents wins!

On Wednesday, March 25th, the Pierce ball is up for grabs.

You heard that right. Sounds like fun, right? Hit up www.99centbidforvalue.com for more information on this. Pierce's signed ball goes up for auction tomorrow, March 25th, at 11:30AM EST. Good Luck!

Shouts to Jen at Ketchum for the heads up!

Stop Or We'll Sue: Blazers Warn Other Teams Not To Sign Miles

The Portland Trailblazers are none too happy about the prospect of Darius Miles' contract counting against their salary cap if he plays just two more games this season. They're so ticked off, that they're threatening legal action against any team that signs him. In an email to the other 29 NBA Teams, the Blazers state:

Team Presidents and General Managers,

The Portland Trail Blazers are aware that certain teams may be contemplating signing Darius Miles to a contract for the purpose of adversely impacting the Portland Trail Blazers Salary Cap and tax positions. Such conduct from a team would violate its fiduciary duty as an NBA joint venturer. In addition, persons or entities involved in such conduct may be individually liable to the Portland Trail Blazers for tortuously interfering with the Portland Trail Blazers' contract rights and perspective economic opportunities.
'Please be aware that if a team engages in such conduct, the Portland Trail Blazers will take all necessary steps to safeguard its rights, including, without limitation, litigation.
Gully with the lawyers involved. I know if I was another squad, I wouldn't budge. But I'm just spiteful like that.

Reports: Blazers send e-mail about Miles
